Steps:

1. Turn off the sewing machine and unplug it.

2. Push the back lever up and remove the presser foot.

3. Raise the needle bar by turning the handwheel toward you.

4. With the provided Singer screwdriver or a flat-head screwdriver, loosen the clamp screw by turning it toward you.

5. Remove the broken needle.

6. Insert the new needle with the flat side (the side with the numbers) facing the back of the sewing machine. Tighten the clamp screw by turning it toward the back.

7. Put the presser foot back on by pushing the back lever up and guiding the bar on the presser foot onto the hook of the needle bar. Release the lever to secure.
