Mercedes-Benz c230 2007 Pull Handle Replacement
ID: 167052
Description: A common problem seen in the 2000s...
Steps:
- Use a spudger to pry off the cover of the pull handle.
- Make sure to lower the window before starting the replacement. In my example, I do it during STEP 4.
- Use a spudger to pry off the SRS Airbag Badge.
- Use the T30 Torx Driver to remove the two screws located inside the pull handle.
- Use the T30 Torx Driver to remove the screw behind the SRS Airbag Badge.
- Use the T20 Torx Driver to remove the screw on the lock knob.
- Use the Door Upholstery Remover to pry off the door panel from the metal door frame.
- After separating the door panel from the metal, gently pull the door panel away from the metal door frame from the sides and bottom to loosen the nails.
- It would help if the window was down. After opening the window, make sure the car is turned off.
- Pull the rubber off the wire of the door handle latch cable.
- Pull off from fasten.
- Unhook the door handle latch cable
- BEFORE TOUCHING THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR PANEL, MAKE SURE THE CAR IS TURNED OFF.
- Use the T20 Torx Screwdriver to remove the screws on the pull handle.
- Use Flathead 3/32" or 2.5 mm Screwdriver to press the clips on the side of the pull handle piece.
- This part of the pull handle is most likely going to be your broken piece, but if not, the piece you will be removing is the top of the pull handle.
- These are the clips.
- Place the new pull handle in place.
- Use the T30 Torx Screwdriver to fasten the new pull handle.
