Steps:

  1. Open up the camera stand to expose the bottom plate of the camera.
  2. Remove two 4 mm silver screws using the Phillips #0 screwdriver.

  4. Using the iFixit opening tool, carefully pry open the bottom plate to gain access to the camera's internals.

  6. Open up the back panel using the iFixit opening tool and unclip the panel from the rest of the device.
  7. Be careful of the charging port while taking it off.

  9. Using the angled slim tweezers, disconnect the cord and pull it gently off of the motherboard.

  11. Remove the single 6 mm screw located deep inside the device using a Phillips #000 screwdriver.
  12. Carefully remove the motherboard from the device.

  14. Remove the remaining two 6 mm screws from the motherboard with a Phillips #0 screwdriver.

  16. Using the precision tweezers, detach the charging port’s motherboard from the camera’s motherboard.
  17. Step image
  18. On the camera's motherboard locate the microphone labeled "MIC1".
  19. Step image
  20. Desolder the iron piece holding down the microphone to the motherboard.
  21. Step image
  22. Carefully detach the microphone from the motherboard.
