Blinds hanging crooked: Repairing the cord lock
ID: 169682
Description: It happens that the cords of a blind are no...
Steps:
- For this repair, you will need a bag clip of a suitable size, like those commonly used for food packaging. It consists of two wires inside plastic, see image.
- It is best to first secure the slat bundle with rubber bands or adhesive tape, for example Tesa.
- Then, remove the blinds from the wall. In my case, you have to tilt the two or three clamping levers on the top of the aluminum profile to the right to do this.
- Pull the plastic cage out with the clamp facing forward. To do this, press the spring clips on the back together, for example with a screwdriver, to release the latch.
- Bend the locking clip so that it cannot slide out on its own.
- Then, insert it so that all cords run along the side of the metal clamping roller where the clamping still functions properly.
- Push the plastic cage back in until it clicks into place, and reinstall the blind.
- If the cords are difficult to move now, squeeze the cord lock slightly and reinsert it. This reduces the resistance on the cords.
