How to Replace a Zipper Tab for a Yeti Hopper Flip Soft Cooler

Steps:

1. You'll need two sections of leather: a thicker strip for the pull tab, and a thinner strip for the loop that attaches to the split ring.
2. On a piece of leather, use a pencil and ruler to mark the lines for cutting.
3. The height of the thicker strip is 2 inches, and the length is 1 inch.
4. The height of the thinner strip is 1 1/2 inches, and the length is 1/2 inches.

5. Using heavy duty scissors, cut out the outline of the zipper tab.

6. Use an awl to pierce a hole into the top of the thinner strip.
7. This hole is for the rivet.
8. Take care not to stab yourself as you puncture the leather. It is better to pierce it slowly to reduce the risk of injury.

9. Pierce the thicker part of the strip near the top using the same technique.

10. Insert one of the rivet caps into the hole of the thinner strip.
11. Insert the other cap of the rivet into the hole of the thicker strip.

12. Slip the split ring through the thinner strip and pull it towards the thicker strip.
13. Connect the two rivets together to create a loop around the split ring.

14. Gently hammer the two rivets together so that they stay connected.
15. If you hit the rivet too hard with the hammer it will damage the rivet and make it unusable.

16. Flip it over and gently hammer the other side of the rivet to seal the connection.

17. Open the split ring and attach it to the zipper slider.
18. Test out the zipper by pulling it by the leather tab and zipping the cooler closed.
