Steps:

  1. Thread the sewing machine with a thread that matches your pants.
  2. Thread via your sewing machine instructions. They can be marked on your machine, or in a separate pamphlet.

  6. Pin the belt loop seam side up so that the top of the loop is 1/4 inch above the seam.

  8. Sew using a straight stitch along the seam.
  9. Use the reverse feature on the sewing machine to go over the stitches three times.
  10. Once the sewing foot is down and the needle is in the fabric you can remove the pin.

  12. Remove the pants from the sewing machine by cutting the threads.

  14. Fold the interfacing over so that it is out of the way of the needle.
  15. If the pants do not have interfacing, this step can be skipped.

  17. Sew the belt loop a 1/4 inch below the seam using a straight stitch.
