Description:

Steps:

  1. Guide 3: Disassembling the capsule press assembly, Location of the two hidden screws.
  2. To remove the cover or case, use the Prerequisite Guide.
  3. Photos 2 and 3: Until I ascertained how to free the capsule press assembly in this machine and similar ones, I removed the assembly by prying the sides, with quite a bit of difficulty, it has two catches per side, but I saw it took excessive effort. On this machine I finally located the cause.

  5. If we Intend to remove the capsule press, the first step is removing the corrugated clip that holds the red water outlet tube. We will remove it using flat needle-nose pliers.
  6. My advice is you work with a flashlight or spotlight and an abundance of light.

  8. The second step is removing the two cup buttons and the button support, this assembly prevents the entire capsule press unit from moving back, even after removing the two screws we'll see in steps four, five and six.
  9. To raise the button support we must be careful with the wiring harness and the connector. Normally it is not necessary to disconnect it.

  11. We'll use the T10 Torx tip or screwdriver.

  13. Screw on the right side of the coffee maker; TORX T10 (yellow arrow) 'view from the rear'. We can see it by using a flashlight. This particular one can be removed with a TORX T10 screwdriver inserted at about a thirty-five degree angle.
  14. It isn't easy, but you can access it.

  16. It will make it easier to work if we lay the machine on its opposite side. In Photo 3 we see the 'broken' screw stem since I initially used force in disassembling—until I realized the two hidden screws existed. I did NOT have a disassembly manual.
  17. Not having a manual or information is the problem with self-taught learning—you end up breaking things. Luckily, this will not happen to you since you've been able to read and see the photos in this guide ;)

  19. More photos at different angles of the screw on the right side, 'the easy one to remove'.
  20. As seen in Photo 1; I had already forced that side.

  22. Now comes the biggest problem, the screw on the left side seen from behind.
  23. INACCESSIBLE HIDDEN TORX SCREW. Left side of the coffee maker seen from the back, in this one I disassembled, there was no way to insert a screwdriver to loosen the screw so I pried it open, breaking the support. YELLOW ARROW.
  24. The Torx screw remained attached to the chassis, RED arrow. I patiently removed it later with flat needle-nose pliers.
  25. NOTE: For another of the same type I have to disassemble; I'll check whether by removing the rear cover (attached to the water tank), it's possible access the screw.

  27. Photos 1 and 2: Removal of the Hidden screw, from the top using flat-nose pliers.
  28. BE CAREFUL: Here I used pliers, because I forcibly removed the capsule press by prying, which isn't the right way to remove it. Photos 1 and 2: Removal of the Hidden screw, from the top with the help of flat-nose pliers.
  29. BE CAREFUL, if we don't remove the screw, after the capsule press has been checked or repaired, we won't be able to return the capsule press to its proper position as the screw will hit and block doing so.
  30. Photo 3: View of the location of the screw seen from the outside.

  32. In a future intervention on an identical or similar machine, I will try to access the screw on the left side. removing the back cover, (Green Arrow), since in the area of the yellow box, it is impossible to find an opening, nor cut away the plastic.
  33. Step image
  34. As we can see, there's no access from the side. The only option I see to remove the screw by unscrewing it without breaking the plastic, as was my case on this occasion, is possibly by removing the (Green Arrow) rear cover and accessing it through some opening.
  35. I will leave that for a future Guide since I haven't been able to confirm whether or not it IS removable from the back. {As I speculate.)

  37. Having removed the two hidden screws, we can slide the capsule press backwards, unhooking it from its 4 anchors.
