2003-2007 Honda Accord Interior Door Handle Replacement

Steps:

  1. Open the appropriate side door of your vehicle that requires a door handle replacement.
  2. Locate the tab on the panel behind the door handle.
  3. Use a flat-head screwdriver (1 x 3 mm) to move the tab to the right and slightly pull the panel out.

  5. Locate two (2) Phillips head screws behind the door handle.
  6. Remove the two Phillips head screws (1.6 x 1.3 x 10.16 mm) using a Phillips head screwdriver (1 x 3 mm).

  8. The first image shows the approximate location of 3 tabs behind the door handle assembly. Knowing the location of tabs is useful when attempting to release assembly.
  9. Using your left hand, pull the assembly to the left to reveal the tab on the right. While pulling on the assembly, use a flat-head screwdriver (1 x 3 mm) to press the tab inward to release.
  10. Once the tab on the right is released, a slight pull of assembly will release it from the door.

  12. Rotate the door handle assembly for ease of access to clips
  13. Locate the first clip holding the door cable.
  14. Rotate the clip clockwise to unlock the cable.
  15. Once unlocked, pull the cable end from the holder.

  17. Locate the second clip holding the door cable.
  18. Using a flat-head screwdriver (1 x 3 mm), release the clip.
  19. Once the cable is released, the assembly is free to remove.
