Steps:

  1. Unplug the lamp from the power source.
  2. Do not touch the metal prongs sticking out of the connector, only hold by the plastic section of the chord.
  3. Find a well-lit area to work in and begin your repair.

  5. Flip the lamp switch upside down.
  6. Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the four 6 mm screws from the bottom of the foot pedal while holding the button cap in place.

  8. Lift the top off of the foot pedal that holds the button in place and put it to the side.
  9. Remove the damaged button from the switch and place it to the side.

  11. Briefly inspect the spring and electrical wiring for any visual damage.
  12. If no internal damage is visible, continue to the next step.

  14. Replace the button and top of the foot pedal.
  15. The button must be replaced before the cap to be held in place.

  17. Flip the pedal switch upside down.
  18. Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to replace the four 6 mm screws on the back while holding the switch together.

  20. Inspect the switch for any gaps around the edge.
  21. Press down on the button to make sure you hear and/or feel a click.

  23. All done! Now you have a fully functional foot pedal lamp switch.
