Steps:
- Unplug the lamp from the power source.
- Do not touch the metal prongs sticking out of the connector, only hold by the plastic section of the chord.
- Find a well-lit area to work in and begin your repair.
- Flip the lamp switch upside down.
- Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the four 6 mm screws from the bottom of the foot pedal while holding the button cap in place.
- Lift the top off of the foot pedal that holds the button in place and put it to the side.
- Remove the damaged button from the switch and place it to the side.
- Briefly inspect the spring and electrical wiring for any visual damage.
- If no internal damage is visible, continue to the next step.
- Replace the button and top of the foot pedal.
- The button must be replaced before the cap to be held in place.
- Flip the pedal switch upside down.
- Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to replace the four 6 mm screws on the back while holding the switch together.
- Inspect the switch for any gaps around the edge.
- Press down on the button to make sure you hear and/or feel a click.
- All done! Now you have a fully functional foot pedal lamp switch.
