Steps:

1. Turn off the device.

2. Remove the water tank by sliding the latch down with a finger and grasping the bottom of the water tank.
3. Pull it out.

4. Remove the filter holders, on the bottom of the water tank, one at a time by maneuvering the spudger under the flaps of the filter holders.
5. Use the spudger to lift enough of the flap up to pinch it between two fingers.
6. Pull the flap up while pinching it to dislodge the filter holder from the water tank.

7. To extract the cotton filters, push the flaps of the filter holders down.
8. Use the tweezers to pull out the filter.
