How to Grip a Hiking Pole

Steps:

  1. Find a replacement grip tape to fix your pole.
  2. Note: In this example we used the grip tape for tennis and badminton rackets.

  4. Open the grip tape and look for the diagonal tip of the tape. Set aside the sticker wrap (green arrow). This will be useful for the final part of the repair.
  5. Tip: in order to identify the right tip, put both ends side to side and look for the one that has a "diagonal" shape (orange arrow).

  7. Remove the sticker back (red circle) of the tip and and begin to wrap the tape around the grip.
  8. Make sure you begin at the end of the grip and start to wrap it upwards, keeping it tight at all times.

  10. Continue to wrap the tape around the grip until you reach the end of handle.

  12. Once you have reached the end of the grip, it is time to cut the end of the tip.
  13. Follow the red line to cut it in a "diagonal shape".

  15. Use the sticker wrap that came with the tape to close the new grip and set it in place.
