DIY Gas Stove Spark Igniter Tester

Description:
Steps:
- I dedicated another document to the advantages of a neon lamp for performing this check of the ignition mechanism of a gas stove; it must be said that it is rare for us to have a problem with this, but why not make a simple tool to test it and know how to do it.
- Related guide: Simple homemade method to check for the presence of a spark on a gas stove and cooktop.
- In this case, I show you another model that is even simpler with: 2 alligator clips, 2 short pieces of wire, a neon lamp without a protection resistance, a bit of silicone, and heat-shrink tubing.
- Solder the 2 wire pieces to the lamp, cover the terminals with heat shrink tubing, and apply a drop of silicone to prevent electrical arcing between the lamp's input terminals via the "shortest path."
- Exploded view of the assembly, covered with heat shrink tubing to protect the lamp and prevent spark arcing.
- Example of use on a kitchen stove. Warning: The gas supply is turned off to perform these tests.
- Video showing the use of our homemade tester.
- END of the Guide.
