Steps:

1. This LG model is quite old, from approximately 2006. To remove the case, you can either extract the front cover first (it takes a little work, but it makes the rest of the repair more comfortable) or do it without removing it.

2. In my case, I removed the front cover by unhooking its 3 top clips; then, I removed the filter to work more comfortably and to wash it at the same time.

3. It is not necessary to remove the housing, but since I have removed the main filter, I am also taking out the inner filters to wash them.

4. This side cover that protects the electrical and electronic components in most appliances does NOT need to be removed.

5. The housing is secured by 2 screws on the bottom and 4 clips on the top. Remove the 2 bottom screws.
6. Remove the 2 bottom screws.
7. In some cases, it may be necessary to remove the moving air outlet flap to easily access the screws.

8. To remove the case, lift it up like you are opening a book.

9. Carefully unhook the 4 anchor points at the top of the cover (do this carefully as the plastic can break, as it has years of use); they are just snapped in, and we can remove the cover, leaving the entire interior exposed.
