Steps:
- Unwind and clip the strings.
- Remove the strings.
- The string order for a right handed ukulele is G-C-E-A, so we will put the strings in the reverse order for left handed people, A-E-C-G.
- Feed the new strings through the holes in the bridge.
- Leave approximately 4 inches so you are able to tie the knot.
- To tie the strings in a double knot, make a loose knot with the strings.
- Feed the string back through the opening (as seen in the second image).
- Once it is fed through the opening, pull it tight.
- Tug on the string to ensure it is secure to the bridge.
- Once the strings are secured to the bridge, feed the strings through their corresponding tuning peg holes.
- Wrap it around outwardly.
- Feed it through the tuning peg again for a tighter fit.
- Ensure that the strings are wrapped around the tuning pegs from the inside out.
- This image shows the direction the strings should be facing.
- Once the strings have been secured to their tuning pegs, wind each tuning peg in a counter-clockwise direction.
- Wind each string roughly 15-20 times, or until the strings are tight and no longer loose.
- Finally, tune your ukulele, and you're done!
