Steps:

  1. Push a SIM tray ejector into the hole.
  2. Remove the SIM card and tray.

  4. Before you begin, discharge the battery below 25%. A charged lithium-ion battery can catch fire and/or explode if accidentally punctured.
  5. Power off your phone and disconnect the charger and any peripheries before beginning disassembly.
  6. Lay the phone face down.
  7. Heat an iOpener and apply it to the rear case.
  8. Alternatively, use a hair dryer to heat the rear case until it's almost too hot to touch.

  10. Insert an opening tool into the seam between the rear case and chassis.
  11. Once you create a gap, insert an opening pick a couple of millimeters into the gap.
  12. Slide the opening pick around the entire perimeter to sever the adhesive that secures the rear case.
  13. If you feel excessive resistance, reheat the problem area(s).
  14. Remove the rear case.

  16. You may need to use your heating device again to remove glue from covering the screws.
  17. Use a T4 Torx screwdriver to remove all eleven 3.2 mm screws securing the midframe.

  19. Use an opening tool to lift and remove the midframe.

  21. Remove the black graphite tape from the battery and surrounding components.
  22. Use an opening tool to lift and disconnect the press connector above the battery.

  24. Use an iOpener or hair dryer to gently warm the battery to loosen to adhesive that secures it.
  25. Warm the battery until it's uncomfortable to touch for more than a few seconds.
  26. Use a spudger to gently pry around the entire perimeter of the battery until it fully releases.
  27. Do not deform or damage the battery.
