ID: 180214
Description: If your G500 is running a bit slow, simply...
Steps:
- First you have to release the "lock" for the battery. You can do this by simply pushing the two sliders in the direction of the arrows.
- ATTENTION: The right slider does not lock, you have to hold it.
- Now you can pull the battery out and up. It might be a little tight, so feel free to use a little more force.
- After the battery is removed, you can easily loosen the two screws shown using a Phillips screwdriver.
- ATTENTION: Here is a guarantee seal! You have to break this to remove the back cover. Your warranty claims will therefore be lost! (Translator's note: This is not always true, check the law where you live.)
- Now you can easily slide off the back cover in the direction of the arrows.
- You can then remove it by lifting upwards.
- As soon as you remove the back cover, the RAM is visible.
- The latches (red arrows) hold the RAM sticks in place. To release them push slightly outward (in the direction of the arrows).
- The latch will accommodate you by popping up a bit and remain at about a forty-five degree angle.
- Remove the memory by pulling it in the direction of the red arrow, towards the bottom of the photo,
- ATTENTION: When installing a new stick, you must pay attention to the installation direction. Additionally, only a DDR3 SODIMM stick fits in it, others have the 'notch' in a different place! (red arrows denote the notch in the memory stick and where it must be aligned for installation)
- Insert the new stick at the same approximately 45 degree angle, seating the memory into the slot notch aligned then press it downwards (towards the laptop). the latches will 'pop back into place when it is correctly positioned.
