Steps:

  1. First you have to release the "lock" for the battery. You can do this by simply pushing the two sliders in the direction of the arrows.
  2. ATTENTION: The right slider does not lock, you have to hold it.

  4. Now you can pull the battery out and up. It might be a little tight, so feel free to use a little more force.

  6. After the battery is removed, you can easily loosen the two screws shown using a Phillips screwdriver.
  7. ATTENTION: Here is a guarantee seal! You have to break this to remove the back cover. Your warranty claims will therefore be lost! (Translator's note: This is not always true, check the law where you live.)

  9. Now you can easily slide off the back cover in the direction of the arrows.
  10. You can then remove it by lifting upwards.
  11. Step image
  12. As soon as you remove the back cover, you can see the fan and heatsink.
  13. ATTENTION: When loosening the screws, make sure to loosen them carefully and evenly! (Not 'all-at-once', rather loosen each screw only a bit then do another one, then another to equalize pressure and avoid damaging underlying components... like the GPU)
  14. Now remove the three screws marked in red with a Phillips screwdriver.
  15. Some models have a dedicated graphics unit installed. If this is the case, the cooler is larger and the two screws marked in green also need to be removed (as in the ATTENTION! above!)
  16. Step image
  17. Now, carefully remove the Heatsink/Fan assembly in the direction of the red arrow, be careful of the cooling fins, they are easily deformed.
  18. Lift with a sideways motion toward the interior of the device to clear the radiating fins from the case.
  19. Be careful not to damage the GPU.
