Steps:

  1. Completely power down the laptop. Remove the charger and any connected peripheries before beginning.
  2. Place the device on a flat surface with the lower case facing up.
  3. Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the ten 3 mm-long screws that secure the lower case.

  4. Insert an opening tool in the gap between the lower case and chassis.
  5. Pry around the entire perimeter of the lower case until it fully releases.
  6. Remove the lower case.
  7. Do not force the lower case off. Continue to pry around the perimeter until it lifts off with minimal force.
