- Remove the side buttons or the cover on the sides.
- Remove the optional weight or the wireless charging puck.
- Remove the 6 highlighted screws with a J00 Phillips driver bit.
- Remove the Torx screw with the corresponding driver bit.
- Lift the white tab on the ribbon cable socket. Then, you can carefully pull the cable out of the socket.
- Disconnect these cable connections and set the lower case aside.
- Remove the upper cover from the lower case. Note that there are cables on the back of the mouse.
- Loosen the adhesive using either isopropyl alcohol or targeted heat.
- When prying out the replacement battery, be careful not to damage it. For this, it is best to use an iFixit opening pick.
- Try to insert the opening pick into the battery compartment from the front of the mouse.
- From this point on, you will only need the J00 Phillips driver bit.
- Remove the ten screws marked in red.
- Now remove the screw under the battery compartment and set it aside separately.
- Other screws will not fit into this thread.
- The tabs on the top cover can get caught during removal. Pull the cover carefully toward the back and up, maneuvering it out with a slight pull.
- Set the cover aside.
- Rotate the mouse buttons out from the side.
- Then turn the remaining mouse assembly over, remove the four marked screws on the mouse buttons, and set them aside.
- Release the magnetic side button covers. Use the existing play to carefully maneuver the covers out.
- Ideally, use a backward and upward motion as shown in the image to avoid getting caught on the DPI buttons.
- Remove the four screws at the front of the mouse.
- Remove the cover for the DPI buttons and the flywheel lock.
- Fold the cover back, being careful not to kink or tear the ribbon cable.
- Caution: The cable is attached to the PCB.
- Remove the four screws marked in red on the mouse buttons.
- Now, disconnect the socket of the corresponding mouse switch.
- After replacing the mouse buttons, you can follow the guide in reverse to reassemble your device. If the battery and the skates remained intact, you are welcome to reuse them.
