Description: Opening the enclosure for HDD replacement

Steps:

  1. After unclipping the housing with an opening pick, notice the very prominent tabs. Could a credit card have replaced the opening pick? The housing is quite flexible, so the risk of damaging the housing when inserting the opening pick seems limited.
  2. Notice the slots for the 5 tabs on one long side. You really have to deform the housing to unclip it. Try to unclip one long side with 5 tabs and the short side with 3 tabs, preferably at the same time.

  3. The hard drive is secured with only 2 side screws.
  4. Unscrew the 2 side screws that secure the hard drive.
  5. The hard drive is plugged directly into the housing's circuit board, without a cable (visible in the step 1 photos): gently pull it to unplug it and remove it from the housing.
