Steps:

1. Empty the filter and remove the top.
2. Firmly grip the old filter and pull it out.

3. Do not throw filter into the garbage. Brita has a recycling program for the filters. Please check out the attached link for further details: https://www.brita.ca/recycling-filters/

4. Thoroughly wash the dispenser with soap and water.
5. Never wash your Brita in a dishwasher; avoid harsh chemicals when cleaning it.

6. Hold the filter under cold running water for 15-20 seconds to activate it.
7. Do not rinse the filter with warm or hot water as it may damage it.

8. Insert the filter into the dispenser reservoir; push it in firmly until it is secure with a tight seal.

9. Fill up the dispenser once with cold water, then pour it out.

10. If your model does not have a status indicator light, write on a sticky note and place it on your Brita to ensure you do not forget when it is time to replace it. Alternatively, set a reminder on your phone.

11. Fill up the dispenser with cold tap water until you reach the max line.
