Steps:

  1. For your safety, unplug all peripheries, discharge the battery below 25%, and power down your device before beginning disassembly.
  2. Unscrew and remove the T5 Torx screws that secure the lower case:
  3. Six 6.5 mm screws
  4. Four 5 mm screws
  5. Insert a Jimmy into the seam between the lower case and chassis.
  6. Pry around the entire perimeter until the lower case fully releases.
  7. Remove the lower case.

  9. Use tweezers or your fingernails to gently "walk" the battery connector directly out of its motherboard socket.

  11. Use tweezers to disconnect the CMOS battery connector from its motherboard port.
  12. Remove the CMOS battery (adhesive will come off when the CMOS is removed).
