Steps:

  1. Remove any accessories such as the detachable keyboard from the device.
  2. Power the device off by pressing and holding the power button for about three seconds.

  4. Insert a spudger into the ridge between the screen and the back of the device, creating a small gap.
  5. Run the spudger along the edge of the screen and around the corners to separate the screen from the rest of the device.
  6. Be careful not to use more force than necessary with the metal spudger or else the device could potentially be scratched.
  7. Do not fully lift or pull the screen away from the device once it is loose because the internal connectors are still attached.

  9. Lift the small tab on the orange connector.
  10. Separate the screen from the back of the device.

  12. Remove four 3 mm screws using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

  14. Disconnect the speaker by gently but firmly pulling the white connector directly from the device.
  15. Remove the speaker.
  16. Repeat for the left speaker.
  17. The process is identical, except that on the left speaker, there are three 3 mm screws instead of four.

  19. Repeat steps 4-7 for the left speaker, if needed.
  20. The process is identical, except that on the left speaker, there are three 3mm screws as opposed to four.
