Steps:
- Remove any accessories such as the detachable keyboard from the device.
- Power the device off by pressing and holding the power button for about three seconds.
- Insert a spudger into the ridge between the screen and the back of the device, creating a small gap.
- Run the spudger along the edge of the screen and around the corners to separate the screen from the rest of the device.
- Be careful not to use more force than necessary with the metal spudger or else the device could potentially be scratched.
- Do not fully lift or pull the screen away from the device once it is loose because the internal connectors are still attached.
- Lift the small tab on the orange connector.
- Separate the screen from the back of the device.
- Remove four 3 mm screws using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.
- Disconnect the speaker by gently but firmly pulling the white connector directly from the device.
- Remove the speaker.
- Repeat for the left speaker.
- The process is identical, except that on the left speaker, there are three 3 mm screws instead of four.
- Repeat steps 4-7 for the left speaker, if needed.
- The process is identical, except that on the left speaker, there are three 3mm screws as opposed to four.
