Steps:

1. Remove the bottom hilt end cap by twisting counter clockwise.

2. Remove the battery pack.
3. Hold the saber body in one hand and with the other twist the black battery box(also has speaker in it) about 1/4 turn clockwise.
4. Pull battery box from the hilt handle.

5. With a #1 screwdriver, loosen the screw holding the black plastic cover over the batteries. You don’t need to remove it from the plastic case but if you do, keep track of it.
6. Slide the black cover from the battery box

7. You can now replace the 3 AAA batteries.
8. Reassemble in reverse order.
