Steps:

1. Before starting, flip the power switch on the bottom of your mouse to the left, so it's in the OFF position.

2. Press down on the battery cover with your thumb and slide it away from the mouse to unclip it.
3. Remove the battery cover.

4. Use your fingers to lift the end of the battery and slide it out of its recess.
5. During reassembly, slide the battery in negative (-) end first, as shown on the sticker in the recess.

6. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two 5.5 mm‑long screws securing the two halves of the mouse together.

7. With one hand, hold the top half of the mouse.
8. With your free hand, insert a finger into the battery recess on the bottom half.
9. Pull the bottom half of the mouse away from the top half to unclip and remove it.
10. During reassembly, slide the bottom edge of the mouse into place first, and then squeeze the two shells together to engage all the clips.
