Steps:

  1. Unplug the washing machine from the wall outlet before touching any panels or wiring.
  2. Turn off the household water supply valves to prevent accidental flooding.
  3. Place towels on the floor behind the machine to catch any residual water from hoses or the switch tube.
  4. Grip the cabinet sides and slide the washer straight forward until you can comfortably work at the back panel.
  5. Avoid pinching the power cord or water lines while repositioning the appliance.
  6. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove all perimeter screws securing the back panel to the cabinet.
  7. Lift the panel off and set it aside where it will not bend or scratch.
  8. Locate the small round switch mounted near the water inlet with a thin clear hose attached to its side.
  9. Confirm the part by tracing the hose back to the tub and the multi-wire plug on the switch body.
  10. Squeeze the locking tabs and pull the plastic wiring connector straight off the switch terminals.
  11. Pull only on the connector, not the wires, to avoid breaking internal conductors.
  12. Loosen the spring clamp with pliers and slide it back along the clear hose.
  13. Twist and pull the hose off the switch nipple, catching any drips with a towel.
  14. Remove the retaining screw or twist the switch counter-clockwise, depending on the model, to free it from its bracket.
  15. Keep the mounting screw for reuse with the replacement part.
  16. Seat the replacement switch in the original bracket and secure it firmly with the retained screw or twist-lock.
  17. Slide the pressure hose fully onto the switch nipple and reposition the clamp over the rib to seal the connection.
  18. Press the wiring connector onto the new switch until the locking tabs click.
  19. Tug lightly on the connector to confirm it is latched and cannot vibrate loose.
  20. Align the back panel with the cabinet edges and reinstall all mounting screws snugly but without over-tightening.
  21. Slide the machine back against the wall, keeping hoses and the power cord from kinking or crushing.
  22. Turn on the water supply valves and plug the washer into the outlet.
  23. Run a normal cycle and watch the fill level; the water should stop at the correct setting and the cycle should advance.
  24. If the tub still over-fills, under-fills, or shows error codes, double-check hose seating and wiring, then consider professional diagnosis.
