Steps:

1. Before starting, flip the power switch on the bottom of your mouse to the left, so it's in the OFF position.

2. Press down on the battery cover with your thumb and slide it away from the mouse to unclip it.
3. Remove the battery cover.

4. Use your fingers to lift the end of the battery and slide it out of its recess.
5. During reassembly, slide the battery in negative (-) end first, as shown on the sticker in the recess.

6. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two 5.5 mm‑long screws securing the two halves of the mouse together.

7. The two halves of the mouse are secured by two clips near the front.
8. Hold the top half of the mouse and pull the bottom half away and down to separate it.
9. Don't try to fully separate the two halves yet—a cable still connects them.

10. Reposition the top half of the mouse so you can access its connector near the back.

11. Use a pair of angled tweezers to firmly grip the base of the connector, just below its notches.
12. Hold your tweezers closer to the tips to get a better grip.
13. Gently rock the connector side‑to‑side and pull straight up to disconnect it.

14. Remove the top half of the mouse from the bottom half.
