Steps:

  1. Flip your laptop over so the bottom panel is facing up.
  2. Use a Phillips #0 to loosen the five screws holding the back panel to the laptop.
  3. These screws do not come all the way out, so loosen until free spinning.
  4. Lift the bottom of the panel to separate the back panel away from the device.
  5. Remove the back panel.

  7. Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the four 5 mm screws connecting the battery to the device.
  8. Slide the battery away from the connector on the motherboard to remove it.
  9. When replacing the battery, make sure to slide the fins on either side of the bottom edge of the battery into the their respective slots.

  11. Locate the CMOS battery. It is a small, round, yellow battery directly connected to the motherboard.

  13. Disconnect the CMOS battery connector.
  14. Use a spudger to gently pry up the CMOS battery.
