Nintendo 64 Controller Action Buttons Replacement

Steps:

  1. Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws from the backside of the controller.
  2. Pull the back shell away from the rest of the controller.

  4. Remove the shoulder buttons.
  5. Unhook the cable.

  7. Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the three screws from the joystick.
  8. Carefully remove the whole motherboard.

  10. Slowly remove the rubber contact membranes and buttons.

  12. Carefully insert new buttons that you wish to replace.
  13. Make sure they are lined up correctly.

  15. Re-attach the rubber contact membranes over the buttons.
  16. Make sure it is lined up and the buttons are firm.

  18. Line up the motherboard black in place.
  19. Wrap the cable and insert it back into the little slot.
  20. Insert the shoulder buttons back in place.

  22. Line up the joystick with the screw holes.
  23. Using the screws that were put to the side, screw in the joystick.

  25. Align the back shell with the screw holes.
  26. Using the screws that were saved from step 1, screw them back in.
