Steps:
- Turn the mouse over so the bottom is facing up.
- Peel off the mouse feet to reveal the first two 9 mm Phillips #0 screws.
- Remove battery cover to expose the battery compartment.
- Remove the batteries.
- Remove all three 9 mm Phillips #0 screws.
- Carefully separate the top and side panels from the bottom cover.
- Put the bottom on a flat surface and set the top and side panels to the left of it.
- Some guides recommend disconnecting the gray cables for more working space. For this model, it is not necessary—leave the cables connected.
- Gently push the wheel left and right until you free its axle from the cradle's socket.
- Once the axle is free, lift the wheel from the cradle and remove the defective scrolling wheel.
- Slide the notched axle end of the new wheel into the socket, then gently push the wheel down until it clicks into place.
