Steps:
- Turn the window crank handle so the back side faces you. You will see that the window crank consists of two pieces connected by a head with snap-on tabs.
- Use a small prying tool or a flathead screwdriver to fit into the small opening and gently pry the head of the crank handle apart.
- If the window crank is not entirely separated by prying it from one side only, you will need to use the same tool to gently pry the other side as well.
- Use either a prying tool or a flat-head screwdriver, preferably one with a larger head for more leverage. Insert the tool between the window crank handle and the plastic washer, and gently pry the head of the window crank apart.
- Do the same for the other side.
- Inside the hole is the Torx screw that mounts the window crank handle to the door panel. Use a T20 Torx screwdriver to take off the Torx screw.
- Take out the window crank handle.
- Place the plastic washer on the back of the window crank handle, where it fits between the crank and the door panel.
- Install the window crank handle replacement.
- Ensure the window crank handle is installed in the desired position.
- As in step 3, use the T20 Torx screwdriver to insert the M4 x 16 mm Torx screw into the same hole. Be sure to handle the Torx screw gently when installing it.
- Line up the top piece of the window crank handle with its bottom half and gently snap the clips into place to secure the connection.
- Test the window crank handle to ensure the window is operating correctly.
