Steps:

1. Before you begin, discharge your laptop battery below 25%. A charged lithium-ion battery can catch fire and/or explode if accidentally punctured.
2. Power off your laptop and disconnect the charger and any peripheries before beginning disassembly.
3. Set the laptop down with the lower case facing up.
4. Lift a corner of the lower silicone foot and peel it completely off.
5. Repeat for the upper silicone foot.

6. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the five 8 mm screws.
7. Remove the two 5 mm Phillips screws.

8. Insert an opening pick into the gap between the lower case and chassis.
9. Starting from a corner is recommended.
10. Slide the pick around the entire perimeter of the device until the lower case fully releases.
11. Remove the lower case.

12. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the the four 4 mm screws that secure the battery.

13. Lift the battery out slowly to disconnect it from the socket that connects it to the motherboard.
14. Removing the battery quickly can damage the socket that the motherboard is connected to.

15. Flip up the locking flaps securing the HDD and SD reader ribbon cables to the respective boards.
16. Disconnect the two ribbon cables.
17. With a Phillips #0 screwdriver, remove the two 3 mm-long screws that secure the two boards.

18. Remove the HDD board.

19. Lift and remove the SD card reader.
