Steps:

  1. Power off your laptop and disconnect the charger and peripheries before beginning.
  2. Flip the laptop over so that the lower case is facing up.
  3. Remove the following Phillips #1 screws:
  4. Six 7 mm-long
  5. Four 4 mm-long

  6. Insert an opening pick into the seam between the lower case and chassis.
  7. Slide the opening pick around the entire perimeter until all of the retaining clips are fully released.
  8. Lift and remove the lower case.

  9. Use your fingernails to "walk" the battery connector out of its socket.

  10. Remove the four 2.5 mm-long Phillips screws securing the heat sink.
  11. Remove the heat sink.
  12. Reapply thermal paste before installing a new heat sink.
