Remington WPG4035 Trimmer - check charger contact / repair

Description: May solve this problems: (1) No battery...

Steps:

  1. Twist off the head

  3. use a stub knife (like the stub side of a butter knife)

  5. Carefully lever off the knob with a small knife.
  6. To reassemble: This small hook should be in that hole.
  7. Take care, to no lose this little part.

  10. Your hear a "blob" sound, when a locking is open.
  11. There are two hocks on each side, which has hold the outer cap. These may help you to lever up. But stay careful.

  14. use a pliers to pull it out
  15. Do not lose this little plastic part.

  17. just image, and some technical data (incl. power supply polarity).

  19. We will check for a working connection:
  20. Connect the charger.
  21. Press all parts together.
  22. Connected it only correctly. Not the wrong way round. ( Last image shows the origin. )
  23. The LED should now glow (=on):
  24. If not: Press a bit more to have a bedder electric contact.
  25. Still no LED on?: You Problem are maybe somewhere else.

  27. Use a small screw (2mm width, flat) to bend the metal up:
  28. 1.) Bend it from inside out.
  29. 2.) Bend the two lateral (the tooth) out, to make it more flat (= more narrow / tight).
  30. left side: is defect: You should bend it up.
  31. right side: OK. So it should look like.

  33. (optional:) Use a soldering station to rework the contact. Especially the contact of charger and battery.
