Steps:

  1. The plug can be reached from below or above, but is difficult to see from either angle. The photos here were taken with the throttle body removed for clarity. It is located under the intake manifold next to the starter motor.
  2. Firmly press the latch on the connector.
  3. Pull the connector off.

  5. It may take a bit of force, but the connector is mounted on a metal bracket and can be removed by pulling up on it.

  7. The crankshaft position sensor can be seen from under the car. The front of the car is at the bottom of the picture and is framed by the engine's lower shields. The oil filter is plainly visible on the right.

  9. Here we see a closer picture of the sensor and its retaining bolt.
  10. Use a 10 mm socket to remove the bolt.

  12. Here you can see the wire hanger that secures the CKPS wire to a bracket.
  13. Normally these can be removed with needle nose pliers, but the position here makes that impractical. I used a small right angle pick to compress one side then the other, while maintaining tension on it.

  15. The sensor can now be removed by pulling it straight out.
