Disassembling Lenovo ThinkCentre M920Q SSD

ID: 205629

Description: Use this guide to upgrade or replace the RAM...

Steps:

  1. Locate the single large Phillips screw on the rear of the chassis. Unfasten the screw completely.
  2. Slide the top metal cover forward (toward the front of the PC) and lift it upward to remove it. Set the top cover aside.
  3. Flip the PC over so the bottom side is facing up. The RAM is located under a separate sliding panel on the bottom of the unit.
  4. Locate the plastic/metal panel on the bottom of the chassis. Slide this panel toward the rear of the device. It should click and then lift away easily.
  5. Identify the RAM module(s). Use your fingernails or a spudger to gently push the two metal arms on the sides of the RAM slot outward. The RAM module will pop up at a 30-degree angle.
  6. Grip the edges of the RAM module and pull it straight out of the slot. Caution: Do not touch the gold contacts on the RAM stick to avoid static discharge or oils from your skin interfering with the connection.
