Replace the defective spiral hose on a Braun Oral-B OxyJet

Steps:

  1. Remove the handpiece.
  2. Press the blue button on the back and pull off the spray nozzle.

  4. Use a suitable tool, such as a small flathead screwdriver, to remove the blue button. Be careful not to lose the small spring.

  6. Gently pull the blue slider away from the handpiece until it comes loose.
  7. Underneath is a small white plastic slider. Slide it all the way down, then you can remove it.

  9. Insert a small flathead screwdriver into the gap between the bottom of the handpiece and the handpiece itself.
  10. Push the bottom away from the handpiece until it comes loose.
  11. Pull the inner part all the way out of the handpiece.

  13. Detach the spiral tube from the handpiece:
  14. Use a small flathead screwdriver to pry the white plastic ring away from the connector. Keep it in a safe place; do not lose it.
  15. Use a utility knife to make a small vertical cut in the spiral tube right at the connector.
  16. Pull the spiral tube off.
  17. For reassembly:
  18. First, slide the small white plastic ring a few centimeters into the spiral hose.
  19. Hold the end of the spiral hose in hot water for one minute until the plastic has softened. Slide the end of the spiral hose over the connector.
  20. Slide the white ring as far as possible over the connector so that the spiral hose is securely clamped in place.

  24. Use a small flathead screwdriver to pry off the mounting plate on the back.

  26. Open the lid and lift the nozzle holder straight up to remove it.
  27. Remove the three Torx T10 screws on the back. (In Figure 1, one is still hidden under the nozzle holder.)
  28. Remove the Torx T10 screw on the base plate.
  29. Pull the back panel away from the device.

  31. Look for the small plastic pin with a spring at the top of the housing. This pin holds the cover in place at the end positions. Be careful not to lose the pin or the spring.

  33. Remove the defective spiral hose in the same way as with the handpiece:
  34. Push the small white plastic ring back. Cut the hose open lengthwise at the connector and pull it off.
  35. To reassemble:
  36. Push the end of the spiral hose through the opening in the housing.
  37. Proceed exactly as with the handpiece:
  38. Slide the plastic ring over the hose section. Hold the end of the hose in hot water. Push the end over the connector. Slide the plastic ring onto it.
