  10. Identify the alarm trigger components and all central parts.
  11. Look for:
  12. The alarm wheel attached to the alarm hand.
  13. The trigger lever (thin metal or plastic arm that rides on the alarm wheel).
  14. The electrical contact that completes the electrical circuit to the buzzer.

  16. Temporarily reinsert the battery.
  17. Rotate the minute hand forward and watch what happens when the current time meets the alarm time.
  18. Misalignment of the alarm trigger is confirmed if:
  19. The alarm wheel misses the trigger lever.
  20. The lever fails to move far enough to trigger the alarm.
  21. The lever slips off the wheel and fails to ride over the wheel.

  24. Clean all the gear surfaces and the alarm wheel using tweezers and a cotton ball with isopropyl alcohol.
