Steps:

1. Lay the clock facedown and remove the battery.
2. Unscrew the back cover.

3. Gently remove the back cover.
4. Unscrew the screws holding the back housing.
5. Carefully separate the back housing.
6. Reminder: Be aware of any wires attaching the battery to the buzzer when removing the back housing.
7. Reminder: Take pictures during disassembly for reference during reassembly.

8. Identify the alarm trigger components and all central parts.
9. Look for:
10. The alarm wheel attached to the alarm hand.
11. The trigger lever (thin metal or plastic arm that rides on the alarm wheel).
12. The electrical contact that completes the electrical circuit to the buzzer.

13. Temporarily reinsert the battery.
14. Rotate the minute hand forward and watch what happens when the current time meets the alarm time.
15. Misalignment of the alarm trigger is confirmed if:
16. The alarm wheel misses the trigger lever.
17. The lever fails to move far enough to trigger the alarm.
18. The lever slips off the wheel and fails to ride over the wheel.

19. Remove the battery again.
20. Clean all the gear surfaces and the alarm wheel using tweezers and a cotton ball with isopropyl alcohol.
21. Clean the pivot point of the trigger lever.

23. Let all of the parts dry completely.

24. Reseat the alarm wheel and press gently to ensure a parallel position.
25. Replace the gears and press gently to ensure a parallel seat.

30. Replace the back housing and screw into place.
