How to replace the auger drive belt on EGO single-stage snowblower (SNT211x models)

Description: This guide will walk you through the process...

Steps:

  1. Make sure that the unit won't start.
  2. The access panel is on the left-hand side of the unit when viewed from behind. There are 8 Torx T20 bolts that hold the panel to the main housing. Remove all bolts and put aside in a secure place.

  4. Use a flat-bladed screwdriver to push the spring off of the metal holder in the housing. Optionally clamp the locking needle-nose pliers to the spring below the screwdriver, as shown, which will add mass to the spring and prevent it from springing off of the unit.
  5. When the spring is removed, tension is removed from the drive belt, making it possible to remove the belt.

  7. If the belt is still wound around the pulleys (not snapped), use a flat-bladed screwdriver to pry the belt off of the large white pulley.

  9. Place the new belt around the large and small pulleys. The belt should have just enough slack to be easily wound over the pulleys.
  10. Place one end of the spring on the hook on the drive belt tensioner. Use a flat-bladed screwdriver and pliers to stretch the spring so that it connects with the metal hook on the snowblower housing.
  11. Rotate the large pulley to ensure that the drive belt is properly seated around both pulleys.
  12. Replace the metal cover and re-attach the 8 Torx bolts.
