Steps:

  1. Start by detaching the display unit from the keyboard base. Turn the laptop's display unit over so the bottom is facing up.
  2. There are eight screws securing the back cover: Four along the bottom edge and Four along the top edge, hidden under a small cover
  3. Use the rounded end of a spudger or a plastic opening pick to carefully remove the small top cover.
  4. Remove all eight screws and keep them separate and organized to avoid mixing them.

  6. Before continuing, disconnect the battery to prevent electrical damage.
  7. The battery connector is located around the SSD and has multiple colored wires. Carefully peel back the thermal tape covering the connector.
  8. Gently pull the connector straight out of the socket, pushing evenly from both sides. It may be slightly stiff due to the wire tension.
  9. Once disconnected, press and hold the power button on the right side for about 5 seconds to discharge any remaining power.

  11. The SSD is located next to the battery and is secured with one screw and thermal tape.
  12. Move the thermal tape away from the retaining screw, then remove the screw.
  13. The SSD will pop up at an angle of about 45 degrees. Slide the SSD out of the slot to remove it.
  14. To install a replacement SSD, insert it at the same angle, push it fully into the slot, then press it down and secure it with the screw.
