Steps:
- Start by detaching the display unit from the keyboard base. Turn the laptop's display unit over so the bottom is facing up.
- There are eight screws securing the back cover: Four along the bottom edge and Four along the top edge, hidden under a small cover
- Use the rounded end of a spudger or a plastic opening pick to carefully remove the small top cover.
- Remove all eight screws and keep them separate and organized to avoid mixing them.
- Before continuing, disconnect the battery to prevent electrical damage.
- The battery connector is located around the SSD and has multiple colored wires. Carefully peel back the thermal tape covering the connector.
- Gently pull the connector straight out of the socket, pushing evenly from both sides. It may be slightly stiff due to the wire tension.
- Once disconnected, press and hold the power button on the right side for about 5 seconds to discharge any remaining power.
- The SSD is located next to the battery and is secured with one screw and thermal tape.
- Move the thermal tape away from the retaining screw, then remove the screw.
- The SSD will pop up at an angle of about 45 degrees. Slide the SSD out of the slot to remove it.
- To install a replacement SSD, insert it at the same angle, push it fully into the slot, then press it down and secure it with the screw.
