Steps:

  1. Identify the up and down arrow buttons on the left display and the plus and minus buttons on the right display.
  2. Older models may use temperature arrows on both sides but the key sequences remain the same.
  3. Press and hold the plus and minus buttons for 10 seconds.
  4. Confirm DF appears on the display indicating forced defrost is active.
  5. During forced defrost the compressor and all fans shut off while the fresh food, freezer, and ice maker heaters energize.
  6. Press and hold plus and minus again for 10 seconds to cancel forced defrost and resume cooling.
  7. Press and hold the up arrow and the minus button for 10 seconds.
  8. Verify both displays show 77 to confirm demo mode.
  9. Demo mode deactivates cooling but still allows lights and button sounds.
  10. Unplug the refrigerator for at least 15 seconds then restore power to exit demo mode.
  11. Cooling resumes when the numeric temperature display returns.
  12. Press and hold the down arrow and the plus button until SB appears.
  13. In Sabbath mode interior lights and the keypad are disabled even when a door opens.
  14. Hold the down arrow and plus button again for 10 seconds until SB disappears to leave Sabbath mode.
  15. Hold both up and down arrows on the left side for 10 seconds to enter service mode.
  16. All LED segments illuminate confirming service mode entry.
  17. Use the plus button to advance through each diagnostic test screen.
  18. Press and hold the plus button for 10 seconds to exit service mode and restore normal operation.
  19. The right display shows the current test number while the left display shows test results or status.
  20. Some tests require pressing plus or minus once more to energize the selected component as prompted on-screen.
  21. Your refrigerator may list tests in a different order; consult the tech sheet for exact functions such as compressor, condenser fan, or ice chute checks.
  22. Pull the toe-kick grille forward and look under the right front corner for a folded paper tech sheet.
  23. Use the tech sheet to decode test numbers, software revisions, and error codes specific to your model.
  24. Hold the up arrow and plus button for 10 seconds to enter the dedicated ice maker diagnostic mode if available.
  25. Advance through ice maker tests with the plus button, following the tech sheet instructions for cube rake, fill valve, or harvest checks.
  26. Hold the plus button for 10 seconds to exit ice maker diagnostics.
  27. When a fault persists the control displays an error code continuously until the underlying problem is corrected.
