Steps:
- Begin by loosening the strings of the guitar by turning the tuning pegs.
- When the string is fully loose, simply remove the string from the tuning key.
- Moving to the bottom bridge of the guitar, push the string through the bridge.
- The string should easily slide out of the guitar.
- Using a 10mm sized wrench or socket wrench, place it over the threaded nut on the tuning key being replaced.
- Turn the wrench until the nut is loose enough to be removed.
- Remove the threaded nut and the washer beneath the nut from the guitar head.
- Set these two pieces aside, just in case.
- Flip the guitar over, so that the back of the guitar is now face up.
- There are small screws still holding the tuning key in place. To remove these screws, use a #0 or #1 size Phillips screwdriver.
- Place the removed screws aside.
- The tuning key can now be fully removed from the guitar head.
