Steps:

  1. Turn off and unplug the washing machine before removing or cleaning the dispenser drawer.
  2. Keep water away from the control panel, power cord, and plug while cleaning.
  3. Use a brush kept only for cleaning, not one that will be used for brushing teeth.
  4. Find the dispenser drawer at the top left of the washing machine front panel.
  5. Place a hand under the drawer handle and pull the drawer straight out until it stops.
  6. Don't force the drawer past the stop, because it is still locked in place.
  7. Look inside the opened drawer for the blue release button near the rear of the drawer.
  8. Press the blue release button down.
  9. Keep the button pressed and pull the drawer straight out of the washing machine.
  10. Check the dispenser drawer for detergent residue, conditioner residue, residue, gunge, and mold.
  11. Lift out the blue cover if residue is trapped underneath it.
  12. Use a brush with hot, soapy water to scrub the removed drawer and blue cover.
  13. Clean until the compartments are clear of buildup.
  14. Inspect the dispenser drawer cavity inside the washing machine before refitting the drawer.
  15. Use a cleaning cloth with hot, soapy water to wipe inside the cavity.
  16. Do not use a brush inside the cavity, because dropping it down the hole can lose it inside the machine and damage the washer.
  17. Line up the dispenser drawer with the grooves in the drawer opening.
  18. Slide the drawer straight in until it seats fully.
  19. Press the blue release button down again if the drawer catches while sliding in.
  20. Open the door and check the rubber seal inside the drum for mold, residue, and debris.
  21. Use a cleaning cloth to wipe the rubber seal clean.
  22. Make sure the drainage holes in the seal are clear.
  23. Plug the washing machine back in when all cleaning is complete and the area is dry.
  24. Make sure there are no clothes in the drum.
  25. Run the hottest available wash program, such as a 90 °C Cotton cycle or the Drum Clean option.
  26. This hot empty wash flushes loosened residue from the machine before the next laundry load.
