Steps:
- Turn off the washer dryer and unplug it before working around the drawer opening.
- Make sure no wash program is running before removing the drawer.
- Locate the dispenser drawer at the top left corner of the front panel.
- This guide uses a Hoover washer dryer with a blue drawer release button, and other models may have small differences.
- Pull the dispenser drawer straight out until it stops.
- Press the blue button inside the drawer down to release the retaining clip.
- Hold the blue button down and pull the drawer out of the machine.
- If the drawer doesn't release, check that it is fully extended, keep the blue button pressed down, and avoid forcing it past the stop.
- Use a brush and hot, soapy water to scrub the drawer.
- Clean both the inside and outside surfaces, including any mold, residue, detergent residue, and conditioner residue.
- Use a brush reserved for cleaning, not one used for brushing teeth.
- Keep scrubbing with hot, soapy water until the drawer passages look clear.
- Look inside the dispenser drawer cavity before refitting the drawer.
- Use a cloth to wipe away any residue or residue inside the cavity.
- Don't push a brush into the cavity, because it can fall through the opening and get stuck inside the machine.
- Keep hold of the cloth so it doesn't slip into the machine.
- Line the drawer up with the grooves in the drawer opening.
- Push the drawer gently into the machine until it is fully seated.
- Don't force the drawer if it catches, because forcing it can damage the runners or clip.
- If the drawer won't close, remove it, realign it with the grooves, and push it in again.
- Pull the drawer out a short distance and push it back in to check that it slides smoothly and closes fully.
- Plug the washer dryer back in after the drawer is installed.
- Run a 90 °C wash program or the Drum Clean option with no laundry.
- Make sure the drawer stays fully seated during the program.
- If detergent or conditioner residue reappears on clothes, repeat the drawer and cavity cleaning.
