Steps:
- Turn off the dryer at the wall switch and unplug it from the power supply.
- Let the dryer cool if it was used recently, because the condenser area can hold warmth and water.
- Clean the condenser unit at least once a month, especially if the dryer is used often.
- The dryer may show a Clean Condenser light when the condenser needs attention.
- Pull the lower front panel outward to access the condenser unit at the bottom of the dryer.
- Release the three retaining clips holding the condenser unit in place.
- Slide the condenser unit straight out toward you.
- Keep a sponge or old rag under the opening because a little water may drain from the unit.
- Expect dust, fibers, and dirt on the condenser if drying performance has dropped.
- Use a cloth to wipe dust and dirt from the compartment the condenser came from.
- If the compartment is dry, use a wet/dry vacuum to remove loose dust.
- Don't use a standard wet/dry vacuum on wet debris; use a wet and dry vac for moisture.
- Clean the compartment as thoroughly as possible before refitting the condenser unit.
- Inspect the front and rear of the condenser for a film of dust, lint, and fibers.
- Remove as much loose debris as possible before washing the condenser.
- This keeps large clumps of lint from going down the drain.
- Use an knife as a scraper only where your fingers can't reach.
- Keep the blade away from your hands and the condenser fins.
- Turn the condenser around and clean the rear side too.
- Use a small hand vacuum or wet and dry vac to pull out loose fibers if available.
- Clean until the airflow openings look clear and free of packed lint.
- Move the condenser to a shower, bath, or sink with a shower head.
- Use a garden hose if you prefer to clean the condenser outdoors.
- Keep the drain plug in while washing so you can remove lint before it enters the drain.
- Set the shower head to its highest spray setting.
- Spray through the condenser from different directions until trapped dirt and fibers wash out.
- Shake the condenser during rinsing to loosen trapped debris.
- Scoop out lint and debris from the bath or sink before removing the drain plug.
- Leave the condenser to dry for a while after rinsing.
- The condenser may dry quickly in warm summer weather.
- Use a tea towel to dry the condenser as much as you can if it doesn't dry quickly.
- Make sure no loose clumps remain on the outside or in the openings before reinstalling it.
- Clean the bath or sink water before draining it so lint doesn't enter the drain.
- Hold the condenser with the arrows facing the correct way up.
- Insert the condenser at a slight angle and slide it into place.
- Don't force the condenser, because it should slide in easily when aligned.
- Push the condenser all the way home until it is fully seated.
- Move the three clips up to lock the condenser in place.
- Close the lower front panel.
- Plug the dryer back into the power supply and switch it on at the wall.
- Load damp clothes and start a drying cycle.
- Check drying performance after cleaning the condenser.
- Clothes should dry better if the condenser was clogged with lint and fibers.
- Clean the lint filter at the front of the drum every time you use the tumble dryer.
- A blocked lint filter fills with fluff and fibers and can reduce drying performance.
- Clean the condenser at least once a month if the dryer is used frequently.
- If clothes stop drying well, clean the condenser and check the condenser compartment for dust again.
- After removing dry clothes, spin the drum by hand and check for small items like handkerchiefs.
