Altyk Le petit PC portable L14 SSD Replacement

Description: Replacing the SSD on an Altyk L14 computer.

Steps:

  1. Turn your machine over so that the bottom is facing you.
  2. You have 10 screws facing you:
  3. 8 identical short Phillips screws (PH000)
  4. 2 identical long Phillips screws (PH000) in the corners near the clutch hinges
  5. Once the screws are removed, you can pry up with an opening pick as shown in the second photo. There is no risk of breaking any snap fits; there are none.

  6. Locate the battery connector.
  7. There are two ways to remove the battery:
  8. Either use plastic or ceramic tweezers to separate the connector from the motherboard by using the corners of the connector as indicated in red.
  9. Grasp the battery wires shown in blue and pull gently toward you to disconnect the battery.

  10. Remove the SSD cooling pad. Proceed carefully, as it is fragile and will need to be reused on the new SSD.

  11. Remove the screw securing the SSD to the motherboard.
  12. Once the SSD is angled as shown in the second photo, grab it by the end and pull it out of its connector. Install the new one by following the guide in reverse order and you are done!
