Steps:
- Flip the assembly over so you can access the back panel. You'll see a total of 11 large screws holding it together.
- I've encircled all of them in the image so you don't miss any hidden ones. To make your life a lot easier and speed up the process, I highly recommend using a magnetic Phillips screwdriver so the screws don't fall back into the housing as you back them out.
- Gently lift up the back panel and this should reveal the internals.
- For this troubleshooting, we do not need to remove the circuit board since off the bat I've already located the problem which is the connecting wire. It looks like the wire got pinched somewhere in the back panel when it was closed without properly routing the wires inside.
- Disconnect both end of the wires by gently wiggling and pulling them.
- Note: Don't pull too much or force the connectors as it could break and snap since it's very delicate.
- Before going to conclusion you should check first with a DMM continuity test, if it does not beep, you have two options here; To replace the connecting wires with a new one (check the parts in this guide to see what type of replacement you need) or cut and solder/splice both wires and reuse it.
- This connecting wire is a stranded 26AWG which is very easy to solder or splice.
- If you choose to solder/splice both wires together then it is mandatory to use a heat shrink or an electrical tape to protect both wires from short circuit.
- Before you return or connect the wire back to the circuit board, make sure that the wires are properly connected by using a Digital Multimeter to test the continuity from it's end to end.
- The tester should beep and displays resistance indicating that the wires are ready to use.
- Return the back panel and plug the power supply and this should fix your problem. If it still does not work or it was not your connecting wire that is the problem then here are other possible issues you could troubleshoot:
- The power supply wire itself.
- Issues in the Input circuit board (you can check this by using the voltmeter on your DMM to test the pins, just make sure to correctly place the probe to it's indicated terminal. It should show 12V when measured.)
- The receiving end of the connecting wire at the control circuit board.
