Steps:
- Push out the retaining pin from the inside and remove the door knob.
- Unscrew and remove the decorative cover.
- Remove the two mounting screws and pull the lock body out from the outside.
- Locate the slot on the lock body that engages with the lock cylinder.
- Turn the knob to retract the latch bolt and open the door.
- Note its position for reassembly.
- Remove the lock cylinder fixing screw.
- Keep all removed screws and small parts organized for reassembly.
- Take out the lock cylinder.
- Compare the replacement lock cylinder with the original.
- Prepare a replacement lock cylinder of the same size and ensure the correct installation orientation.
- Insert the new lock cylinder into the door opening and secure it with the fixing screw.
- Reinstall the lock body from the outside.
- Make sure the slot properly engages with the lock cylinder.
- Then turn the exterior knob and verify that the latch retracts normally.
- Tighten the adjustment screws for both the interior and exterior knobs.
- Tighten the decorative cover of the interior knob.
- Push the knob firmly inward until it is fully seated in place.
- Turn both the interior and exterior knobs to verify that the latch operates correctly and the door opens normally.
