  5. Align the edges of the torn cuff so that it matches up and lays flat.

  7. Secure the aligned edges with fabric clips or pins.

  9. Insert the needle at one end of the tear, pulling the thread all the way through so the knot catches the fabric.

  11. Bring the needle through the raw edges of the fabric, pushing it through both layers from the backside to the frontside. This creates a whipstitch.
