Steps:

  1. Shut down the laptop completely.
  2. Disconnect the charger and all external devices.
  3. Flip the laptop over so the lower case is facing upward.
  4. Make sure the device is completely powered off before continuing.

  5. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the following screws securing the lower case:
  6. Seven 2.5 mm-long
  7. Three 5.5 mm-long

  8. Insert an opening pick into the seam between the lower case and chassis.
  9. Slide and pry with the pick around the entire perimeter until the lower case fully releases.
  10. Remove the lower case.
